V-Chords A Cappella

Chris Moore...

Chris grew up in Portland Oregon. His first experience with music involved playing drums in high school marching band but after years of his band directors complaints about his inability to march in a straight line he knew he wasn't meant to be in a professional marching band or the US military.

Instead he switched his focus to his first dream of becoming a professional basketball player. This goal was realized weeks later when some kids at the local playground paid him to stop playing. After High school he relocated to Pendleton Oregon where he attended Blue Mountain Community College on a jazz percussion scholarship. From there he added more music classes each term. He sang in the choral choir then jazz choir where they won multiple silver and gold medals at international competitions, the highlight being singing solo on a gold medal winning song.

Chris became interested in a cappella music after seeing a four part men's group perform. The next year he auditioned but did not make the schools four part men's group but refusing to give up he found something the group was missing, the rhythm section. Chris was a founding member of Second Chance a group that started at the school and expanded into a semi-professional modern group. The highlight for Second Chance, was winning the Northwest Harmony Sweepstakes in 2003. Chris sings tenor and vocal percussion for V-Chords A Cappella, as well as any solo no one else wants.
