V-Chords A Cappella

Josh Killingsworth...

Josh Killingsworth has had a long, strange trip en route to becoming a member of the V-Chords. A classically trained tenor, Josh has performed in more than a dozen operas, several recitals, and countless choirs (62 college choir credits worth) in Oregon, California, Washington, and Arizona. He has studied with many great teachers, most notably Candace Burrows in Eugene and Robert Swensen at the University of Arizona.

Unable or unwilling to focus completely, Josh is also often involved in jazz and pop music, and was even lucky enough to perform a few times with Linda Ronstadt while living in Tucson, and has long been a terror in karaoke bars across the western United States.

Although an accomplished classical and jazz vocalist, Josh's heart lies in the world of a cappella music, and the endless array of sounds-melodies, harmonies, and anything else that can be done with just the human voice. It is a passion that has been with him for years now -- collecting a cappella recordings, concert tickets, and autographs whenever he can (so far no a cappella group has issued a restraining order on Josh, but there have been some close calls).

Josh is very excited to have joined the V-Chords, and is looking forward to making great music with the group for a long, long time. When he is not rehearsing or slinging drinks at Macaroni Grill, you can find Josh pursuing his other passion (obsession) of riding his bike around the Portland area. If you see someone huffing and puffing up a long hill, but still inexplicably singing crazy high tenor lines or beatboxing, you will know it is our newest member Josh.
